Cabling and Wiring

Overview

Cabling and Wiring

If you are considering hiring a cabling company for installation of new cabling, replacement of old cabling, or abatement of old cabling, there are a few qualifying items for you to consider before making your final decision.

  • Is the company licensed and insured? eFusion Systems is licensed throughout the State of Florida and is fully insured.
(Check out our home page for more licensing information)
  • Does the company simply test the cabling or do they fully certify it? eFusion Systems is capable of fully certifying all network cabling and providing a detailed report of the performance of each cable.
  • Does the company provide a manufacturer's warranty of 20 years or more for their cabling jobs? eFusion Systems is an authorized installer for several manufacturers and can provide warranty-level installations. A warranty-level installation provides you with a warranty that carries through with the manufacturer. If our services were no longer available 15 years from now, you would still be able to receive warranty work on your installation through the manufacturer!

Of course eFusion Systems passes these qualifications with flying colors, but so do a few other companies in the Central Florida area. So what sets us apart from the rest? Our attention to detail and our ability to provide services well beyond that of a company that only performs cabling installations.

What does attention to detail mean when it pertains to cabling installations? It means that all cabling will be extremely neat and orderly below and above the ceiling. With dozens of installs under our belt, we have never failed an inspection and we are often commended by the inspector on the neatness of our work!

Over the years, we have assisted numerous clients who required services well beyond network cabling installation; and we were happy to help! Some examples include providing telephone and data cross-connections from the cabling closet to each location (i.e. "this extension goes here, this computer goes there"), installing new cabling in parallel to existing cabling in phases, resulting in no down-time for the customer, and providing/configuring all equipment necessary for a fully functioning network from the firewall that connects to the Internet to the VoIP phones setup on a separate VLAN to the network printer that is shared among all of the workstation computers!

Did you know???

Check out the following tidbits of information related to this technology or service! The more you know about something, the more likely you are to make good, informed decisions when it comes time to implement it!

  • When a customer asks us to quote Category 6 cable or higher, our first question to them is "do you have a need for 10 Gigabit speeds?" While many vendors will try to sell you this very expensive cabling for "future proofing" we feel it is a waste of money at the moment. Category 5E cabling is capable of Gigabit speeds and most network adapters are either 100 Megabit or 1 Gigabit anyway, so why waste your money? If you insist on or have a real need for Category 6, we can certainly install it and certify it for you, but we will never try to convince you to pour money into unnecessary upgrades!
