NetelliCam Gate Camera System

Video Surveillance for Gated Communities

Gated Community

Gated communities are very popular in Central Florida. The gates provide nice curb appeal, privacy, and a degree of security for the entire neighborhood. The gates also come with high maintenance costs and even higher repair costs if they are damaged or vandalized. Unfortunately, most damage or vandalism is done when there are no witnesses, so the repair costs must be paid for by the community instead of the person(s) responsible for the act.

Obviously, the solution to this problem is to install a video surveillance system at the gates. Until recently, however, the solution was not that simple. For a video surveillance system to work properly, the cameras need to be able to feed their video to a recording system for storage. Since most gated communities in Central Florida do not have any environmentally controlled buildings at or near the gates, the sensitive video recording systems can quickly succumb to Florida's heat, humidity, and electrical surges. Additionally, the network bandwidth required to send video across the Internet directly from the cameras is so limiting, it makes the recordings worthless - not to mention the high monthly cost for a good broadband connection. Finally, cameras that store the recordings internally on a flash card are very inconvenient to access (imagine climbing a ladder to reach a weatherproof camera, unbolting the housing, and grabbing a flash card every time you wanted to view the recording!).

After literally two years of searching and waiting for technology to "catch up" with our strict requirements, eFusion Systems has finally developed a solution to these problems that is cost effective, reliable, flexible, and easy to use! This solution allows up to four cameras to record up to 5 Megapixel quality video to a small on-site video recording system that can withstand the harsh Central Florida environment. We get around the monthly fees for broadband Internet because the system can be accessed wirelessly! All you supply is power! The video is recorded locally in a central recording system capable of two Terabytes or more of storage. Options are available for secure connectivity to the recording system via wireless networking (most cost effective and convenient), wired networking, or via broadband Internet (if you insist). With any of these methods, live and recorded video can be accessed as well as copied to the client computer.

What sets us apart from the rest is the combination of lower cost of ownership and convenience. Go ahead and compare our system to the rest and you will see why we are so proud of developing this solution!

  • Even cameras capable of IR (infrared) night vision need some help at gated communities. This is because the difference in light levels that occur when an automobile's headlights and taillights come in to view of the cameras' lense. The effect this creates is known as "blooming". Because the automobiles move through the picture quickly, the camera cannot adjust in time to show a clear picture... all that you can see clearly is the bright lights of the automobile. So what is the solution? IR blasters. IR is invisible to the naked eye, but a night vision camera can see it just fine. If a properly sized IR blaster is positioned with the camera, the IR light is as strong as the automobile lights and the blooming is no longer a problem.
